Cottage season has begun in Ontario. Wonderful Wendy and friend Ken drove to the cottage on Wednesday. The place has been closed up since last October so they have plenty to do to open things up for the season. So far they have cleaned out weeds from the garden. And they shopped for groceries. They put out all the outside furniture and set it up. And they cleaned the inside. So after this weekend, they will be able to relax and enjoy the cottage.
Wendy almost always swims in Muskoka Lake the weekend they open the cottage. But the water temperature was 57 degrees so she decided that more sun was needed to heat up the lake. I will be interested to know if she goes into the water this weekend. In the past, she just went swimming without regard for the temperature. Maybe you get wiser when you get older and you check the water temperature before you get in.
It is interesting to note that Mississippi people do not have summer cottages. Some have a condo in Florida or a country place for hunting. But there is nothing like cottage life in Mississippi. I still miss our cottage in Nova Scotia at Ponhook Lake. It was a perfect cottage and we loved it. I will enjoy the exploits from Wendy and Ken. Another summer has begun.

Our cottage is on Lake Joseph not Muskoka.
